ABOUT

AcousticOz is a tribute to the greats of Oz pop rock over the last 40 years.  Played on acoustic  guitars, with harmonica, stomp box, flute, and professionally recorded backing tracks, AcousticOz brings out the melodies and harmonies that have become the soundtrack of our lives growing up in this Great Southern Land, (and yes, they sing that one).

AcousticOz is brothers Jason and Steve Coghill.  Both acoustic guitar players and singers, they have been playing in bands for over 25 years including a lot of Oz rock covers.

  • Jason has written an produced several albums, and has performed live nationally and overseas.  His song “Weekend Away” which features Steve on harmonica, won the ABC’s national song competition “I Wanna Play Apollo Bay” and scored the boys a support for the Russell Morris/Brian Cadd show.  Other support gigs include Renee’ Geyer and Jo Camilleri.  He is also the lead singer in The J Band, a covers trio playing around Geelong, the Bellarine and Surfcoast for the past decade.  The J Band also play many of the classic Aussie covers. See: www.thejband.com.au

  • If you can’t get Paul Kelly, James Reyne, Hoodo Gurus or Crowded House to play at your wedding or corporate event, then AcousticOz is the next best thing. The boys can keep it strictly acoustic at the start of the night or during meals, and then when it’s time to dance, professional backing tracks turn the duo into the full band sound – what you’re hearing now.  There is also an option to book AcousticOz as a Trio with a female flautist & backing vocals.
